Spring Trend: Bandage

How do you wear bandage if you don't have the perfect body? Simple, wear a bandage skirt with a loose top just like this look from Narciso Rodriguez Spring 2009 Runway.

Louis Vuitton Boetie PM

I am not a big fan of LV monogram bags, but I'm really digging this one. It's sophisticated and it looks expensive, which is not always the case with some monogram bags. It also has a zipped closure and a flap which is a big plus for me as I like to keep my things safe. There is a GM (Largest) and MM (medium size) version of this bag but I prefer the PM which is the smallest because I think the style looks better small, it's cute like a satchel. This bag costs $1860.

Spring Trend: One-Shoulder

The one-shoulder dress or top is one of Spring 2009's hottest trend. I think it's sexy, elegant, revealing but in a sassy chic way. Especially nice if you have tone arms and shoulders. Why not make this an excuse to work-out and tone those arms.

Pretty in Pinks

One of the biggest trends for Spring 2009 is Color and Pink is my color of choice this season. Pink is the most feminine of all colors. It is often associated with being too girly girl, just think of Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde or Isla Fisher in Confessions of a Shopaholic. Pink also symbolizes romance and calmness except for the hot pinks where it brings out intense emotions. I am more into deeper pinks than the sweet pastel ones so maybe I'm an intense person. Here's my pretty in pink picks:

Love it or Hate it: Chanel Carrier-inspired Bag

I remember watching project runway and how Michael Kors and his gang of judges lashed out at designer contestants saying their designs were  uninspired, lack imagination, too plain or taken too literally. I wonder what they would say when presented with a design that is something like this. Luckily Karl Lagerfield is an established designer so he wouldn't care less what everyone thinks. And Chanel had developed a huge loyal followers over the years and I think some of them would even go gaga over this. I doubt this would pass in design school though, it just looks like a work of someone who has run out of ideas, need something for the deadline and sees a carrier bag lying around and voila, a luxury bag. However I look at this bag, it just looks like a plain old carrier bag and I don't see any creativity. I still love Chanel and the classic flap bag is still my favorite, but I'm not shelling out money for design that even a grade school student can do. What do you think?

The Yellow Dress

This dress is by Phillip Lim made of 100% silk with handkerchief collar and elasticated waist. I rarely buy yellow dresses or tops bec. yellow is just not right for my skin, but i can't help looking at this dress. It looks fun, sunny, comfy, simple yet chic. Pair it with a wide statement belt and you're good to go. Perfect for spring or summer. Saw this dress at www.Net-a-porter.com

Louis Vuitton Fall 2009 Show: Handbags

I wasn't in love with the bags from Louis Vuitton's Spring 2009 Runway Collection but their Fall collection is amazing. The colors are rich and elegant, the shapes are classic with a twist (e.g. the Alma) and it's definitely more edited than the previous. I think Marc Jacobs did a good job this time and everyone seems to agree. I wonder which one of these bags is going to be released. I can't wait for fall, though I think this would be quite expensive but there's a lot of time to save ;-)

Mango Spring Collection

It's been my habit to check out Mangoshop.com for their new collection, and for their spring collection I found two fabulous dresses that I might add in my wardrobe. I'm more of a jeans kind of girl, but this year I promise myself a wardrobe make-over and buy more dresses.

I've been looking for a shirt dress for some time now but mostly it's boring and plain. This, I think is perfect for me, the cut is simple but the color and pattern made it interesting and classy. This dress costs 30 pounds.

Love the color, love the flirty skirt at the bottom. Costs 75 pounds.

LV Graffiti Speedy

Part of the LV tribute to Stephen Sprouse collection, the Graffiti speedy is the buzz in the fashion world these days. I wasn't quite sold on this bag at first bec. it's a bit loud for my taste but everytime I get glimpse on it, it's kind of growing on me especially when I saw Agyness Deyn toting one (it looks cool on her but then she looks good on everything). I have to remind myself that I'm saving for a Chanel Flap Bag haha. This bag is now available at Louisvuitton.com for $1180, comes in 3 colors, orange, green and pink. This is cheaper than the Rose speedy and I like this one better.

Shopping in HK

I went to HK recently to see what's going on in that part of the globe. I thought HK was having recession problems lately but I didn't feel it when I was there because I saw a lot of people shopping and some carrying loads of carrier bags. Here are some pics I took:

Gucci in Central
This is where I bought my new Gucci tote bag, see my profile pic.

H&M in Central
there are 4 branches of H&M in HK now and this one is their first and I think the biggest. I love H&M 'coz it's so cheap and I believe a lot of people share my sentiments since it's always full of people.
